It's the same evening every time. Everyone's here, the drinks are poured, and someone says: so, what do we do? Every answer in the house has a catch.

The box asks for a lot before it gives anything back.
Clear the table. Read the rules out loud for twenty minutes. Then find that it seats four, and seven people came.

You were anxious about tonight before anyone knocked.
You invited them, so the evening is yours to carry. Everybody arrives, and it is on you to make something happen before it goes flat.

A phone game puts every head in the room down.
Eight people together, eight small screens. Two of them stopped playing a while ago and are just scrolling now.

Putting something on makes the room go quiet.
Two hours, nobody says a word. That is not a gathering. That is a waiting room with snacks.
We put the game where the room was already looking, and left their hands empty.
The television. The one screen everybody is already facing. Nothing in anyone's hands, and nothing to explain.
It is the campfire the room is already sitting around. We are using it to get people talking, arguing and reading each other — not to hand them one more thing to watch.
One television. A whole evening.
We're building a collection of games for the big screen — made for a room, not a player. Short. Nothing to explain. Every one of them meant to get people talking to each other.
Fifteen and more, all of them for a group. In development right now.
And when it arrives, the whole collection will cost less than a single board game.
